Our client is seeking an Experienced Medical Receptionist (Monday to Friday) to join their dedicated team.

Experience as a medical receptionist is essential for this role, and a competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered. You will be part of a small team reporting to the Practice Manager, that takes pride in delivering exceptional service, upholding values of honesty, integrity, and teamwork - with patient safety and positive outcomes at the heart of everything they do.

Our client’s busy Ophthalmology clinic prides itself on being a modern, purpose-built, and fully computerised practice with a relaxed, friendly, and patient-centred approach. The clinic provides comprehensive eye care services to the Sunshine Coast community, operating from a state-of-the-art facility with full diagnostic capabilities to manage conditions such as cataracts, pterygia, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and various eyelid problems, including cancers.

Key responsibilities in the role:

* Oversee front desk operations and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of reception activities.

* Work closely with the team to deliver excellent patient care and experiences.

* Be the first point of contact to patients, representing the practice brand with professionalism and warmth.

* Use your advanced administration skills and communication skills to manage competing priorities with ease and accuracy.

* Manage incoming calls and patient enquiries with confidence and empathy.

* Coordinate and oversee patient bookings, scheduling and follow-ups.

* Manage billing, payments and Medicare claims efficiently and accurately.

* Maintain accurate patient records, scanning and filing as required.

* Provide administrative support to medical practitioners and clinical team members within the practice.

* Operate with exceptional organisation and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.

* Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal abilities, building positive relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.

About you:

You are an experienced and capable medical receptionist who takes initiative and enjoys working autonomously but also values teamwork. You bring energy, initiative, organisation and flexibility to your work, with an enthusiastic and professional manner in every interaction.

You will be well presented, calm under pressure and comfortable balancing patient care and your administrative tasks.

You can demonstrate:

* Proven experience in medical administration or specialist reception roles.

* You are adaptable, flexible, and have a brilliant work ethic.

* Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.

* You are very organised, diligent and work well within a high paced environment.

* Willingness to learn new aspects of the role/clinic.

* Motivation, an easy going demeanour and eagerness to learn and grow.

* Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
