We’re a family-run business, deeply rooted in values that span generations. As we expand, we’re looking for an Inventory Controller to join us on this exciting journey and play a pivotal role in the future of Rombola Family Farms team based in Nericon, NSW.

This is a Full-Time role. The Inventory Controller is responsible for the accurate and efficient management of supplier-owned (e.g., CHEP, VPS) crate and pallet inventory on loan. This role ensures strict adherence to supplier agreements, accurate tracking of asset movements, and timely reporting to minimize discrepancies and associated costs. The position also provides crucial support to general logistics administration and may involve forklift operation as required.

Key operational accountabilities include:

Inventory Control (CHEP/VPS Specific):

* Maintain meticulous records of all supplier-owned (CHEP, VPS, etc.) crate and pallet inventory, including quantities, locations, and condition, adhering to each supplier's specific requirements.
* Conduct regular stock checks and reconciliations, ensuring alignment with supplier records and promptly addressing any discrepancies.
* Implement and manage a robust system for tracking all supplier asset movements, including receipts, dispatches, returns, and transfers, utilizing supplier-provided platforms or systems where applicable.
* Generate and submit accurate and timely reports to suppliers (CHEP, VPS, etc.) regarding inventory levels and movements, as per contractual obligations.
* Forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet operational needs while minimizing holding costs and supplier penalties.
* Monitor and report on inventory performance, including utilization rates, loss/damage, and compliance with supplier agreements.

Supplier Relationship Management:

* Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier-related inventory matters (CHEP, VPS, etc.).
* Maintain clear and consistent communication with suppliers regarding inventory levels, movements, and any issues that may arise.
* Ensure compliance with all supplier agreements and procedures.
* Resolve discrepancies and disputes with suppliers in a timely and professional manner.

Asset Management:

* Oversee the proper handling and storage of supplier-owned crates and pallets, ensuring they are protected from damage and contamination.
* Implement procedures for identifying and segregating damaged or unusable supplier assets, following supplier-specific guidelines for reporting and disposal.
* Ensure that all asset movements are properly documented and recorded within supplier systems.

Logistics Administration:

Documentation:

* Prepare and process shipping documents, delivery notes, and other logistics-related paperwork, with particular attention to supplier-specific documentation requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of all logistics transactions, including supplier-related inventory movements.
* Assist with data entry and reporting, including generating supplier-specific reports.

Communication:

* Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and transport providers.
* Respond to inquiries and provide timely updates on logistics activities, with a focus on supplier-owned inventory.

General Support:

* Assist with general logistics administration tasks as required.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives, particularly those related to supplier-owned inventory management.

Forklift Operation:

Safe and Efficient Operation:

* Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
* Conduct thorough pre-operational checks and report any equipment malfunctions promptly.
* Utilize forklifts for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
* Loading and unloading materials from trucks, containers, and storage areas.
* Moving and organizing inventory within the warehouse or yard.
* Assisting with the placement and retrieval of materials for production or order fulfillment.
* General material handling as required to support logistics operations.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safe and efficient forklift operation.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

* Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, or a related field.
* Tertiary qualification in supply chain management or logistics is advantageous.
* Experience with CHEP or VPS system
* Have Forklift licence and experience driving Forklift
* Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* A proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and priorities.
* Demonstrates initiative and a keen eye for continuous improvement.
* A current driver’s licence.
