About the role

The Children's Services Coordinator is a pivotal leadership position within the Community Wellbeing branch.

This role leads and coordinates an Early Childhood Service to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and care programs that reflect the Children's Services Philosophy and meet all requirements of the National Quality Framework.

Reporting within the Children's Services management team, you will oversee the daily operations of a Council-managed 48 place early learning centre, ensuring a safe, inclusive and developmentally appropriate environment for children, families and staff.

* Lead the development and delivery of high-quality education and care programs aligned with the National Quality Framework and Standards
* Oversee the effective management of an early childhood centre, including staffing, operations, compliance and service quality
* Build strong relationships with families, community partners, government departments and internal stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Child Safe Standards
* Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement across Children's Services

About you

You are a passionate and experienced early childhood professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for children and families.

You bring a collaborative approach, sound judgement and the ability to lead teams in a complex and rewarding service environment.

What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Standards, and Children's Services Regulations and Act
* Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma Qualifications
* Proven business management capability including financial management and computer literacy
* Strong commitment to customer service and the delivery of high-quality care and education services
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
* Demonstrated commitment to City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect and striving for excellence
* Tertiary qualification and significant experience in Early Childhood Education, including management of early childhood services

* Desirable Experience with management software program Qikkids
