The Opportunity Cadence Connect has been engaged exclusively to recruit a Senior Cloud Engineer for a well-established organisation operating a large and complex Azure environment. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on the ownership and ongoing improvement of the organisation’s cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with the Cyber Security Lead, infrastructure teams and offshore cloud engineers to ensure the Azure platform remains secure, stable and scalable. The environment is already well established; however, there is a strong pipeline of work ahead as the business continues investing in cloud maturity, security initiatives and broader platform improvements. The role will involve a mix of operational cloud engineering and project work as the platform continues to evolve. This position sits firmly within cloud infrastructure engineering rather than DevOps. The focus is on managing and improving an existing Azure platform rather than building CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities and Experience Required • Own and manage the organisation’s Microsoft Azure cloud environment • Strong experience with Azure identity and access management, including user provisioning and governance • Manage Azure networking, including VNets, routing and connectivity • Maintain and optimise Azure Virtual Desktop environments • Administer Cloudflare services, including DNS and security controls • Manage the SSL certificate lifecycle and domain infrastructure • Work closely with the Cyber Security team on cloud security initiatives • Provide technical guidance and escalation support to offshore cloud engineers • Troubleshoot complex cloud and infrastructure issues • Improve documentation, governance and operational standards across the cloud platform The successful candidate will likely come from a Senior Systems Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer background with strong hands-on Azure experience. Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or AZ-500 will be highly regarded.
