Sober Ramen Torquay Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Chef to join our busy ramen restaurant team in Torquay. This is a full-time position where you will prepare high-quality dishes and contribute to kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
To be considered for this role, the candidate should:
* 1.Hold a valid work permit in Australia.
* 2.Hold at least a Diploma qualification in Cookery.
* 3.If have formal qualifications, at least one years of relevant experience will be required. If have no formal qualifications, at least four years of relevant experience will be required.
* 4.Has a positive attitude and works well with both the kitchen team and floor staff.
* 5.Works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, handles pressure well, and is willing to work long hours when required.
* 6.Can read and follow recipes independently.
The main duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Preparing and cooking ramen, side dishes, and accompaniments in accordance with established recipes and procedures.
* Monitoring the quality of ramen dishes throughout preparation and presentation to maintain consistency and standards.
* Coordinating with floor and kitchen staff to address food preparation and service requirements.
* Maintain a stock level register and monitor usage-to-wastage ratios as outlined in Sober Ramen's Operating Guide.
* Explaining and enforcing food safety and hygiene regulations within the kitchen.
* Freezing, storing, and preserving broths, ingredients, and prepared foods in line with food safety standards.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef at Sober Ramen to plan menus including broth varieties, noodles, toppings, and side dishes, and estimating food and labour costs accordingly.
* Assisting with the selection and training of kitchen staff when required.
