Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will manage financial operations, coordinate tax reporting, and support strategic financial and tax decision-making.Key responsibilities includeAccounting for Corporate DepartmentsMaintaining Monthly Tax Fixed Asset RegistersAssisting with the preparation of the Annual Income Tax return and liaising with external tax advisorsSupporting quarterly tax effect accounting for the GroupProviding strategic tax advice and drafting internal compliance position papersPreparing Business Activity Statements and Fringe Benefits Tax returnsEnsuring Income and Indirect tax compliance and supporting tax governanceMaintaining internal Financial, Tax, and Accounting PoliciesIdentifying areas for process improvement, driving efficiency, and cost savingsHandling ad-hoc requests and supporting the team as requiredQualifications and skills requiredPractical experience with end-of-month reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, and forecastingMinimum 5+ years in a similar role, preferably within the mining industryStrong analytical and numeracy skills with keen attention to detailExtensive knowledge of Australian Tax Law and AccountingKnowledge of Canadian Tax Law is desirableBachelor's degree in Business or CommerceFull Professional Membership with CA ANZ, CPA Australia, or CTAWhat we offerA permanent full-time position with a successful gold producerPerformance-based bonusesSite allowance (if applicable)Group salary continuance insuranceHealth and wellness allowanceFamily and Medical leave policies, including IVF, surrogacy, and adoption supportReferral bonus programPro-rata long service leave after 5 yearsSalary sacrifice optionsEmployee Assistance Program with confidential counselling and wellbeing servicesWe recognize that not every candidate will meet every qualification, but if you have the passion and drive to contribute to our operations, we encourage you to apply.Westgold is committed to our core values of Respect, Safety, and Value.
