Job Role
The Roster Officer plays a pivotal role in coordinating staffing rosters with the Manager Human Resources.
* This position involves working closely with the human resources unit to provide administrative and clerical support.
* Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining accurate rostering systems, processing staffing variations, validating employee timesheets, and providing management with information on roster costs and estimates.
Key Responsibilities
The following tasks are key components of this role:
* Develop rosters that meet operational needs according to award provisions and industrial instruments.
* Prepare and distribute centre rosters and information on rostering allocations.
* Process staffing variations with relevant managers.
* Validate employee timesheets and ensure correct payments according to award entitlements.
* Provide management with information on roster costs and estimates.
* Review leave entitlements for staff and advise on outstanding balances and excess leave.
* Prepare annual leave rosters through collation of staff leave requests and entering into centre leave planning systems.
* Respond to staff inquiries related to roster or leave arrangements.
* Administer bank time, sick leave, and annual recreational leave applications.
* Evaluate leave approval in accordance with delegations.
* Provide administrative support, including data entry for rosters and inputting data into various computer-based systems.
* Support recruitment and selection processes at the centre level.
* Maintain a filing system.
* Handle general human resource inquiries.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding human resource information.
