HCC REZ Transmission works comprises the rebuilding of Transmission line corridors between, Kurri Kurri and a new substation on Hebden Road, Hebdon known as Eastern Hub Sub-transmission Switching Station (STSS) and a new substation known as Muswellbrook STSS to TransGrid's Muswellbrook Bulk Supply Point (BSP). Works will be conducted within the Clients existing transmission corridors, public land and private land. The new circuits will be constructed of steel poles with embedded foundations. The works will be delivered over several separable portions; however, these separable portions relate to staging access to the client's transmission corridors.
The Role
Genus Infrastructure are looking for a driven and experienced Construction Supervisor to join an exciting new transmission project inHunter Valley.The Construction Supervisors purpose is to provide daily direction, instructions, and guidance to the allocated Trades Team to ensure the smooth running of the HCC REZ Transmission Project.
* Supervision of Transmission Pole Construction: Oversee the assembly and erection of 3-piece transmission poles, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, specifications, and safety standards.
* Pole Top Arrangement Oversight: Manage the construction and installation of pole top arrangements, verifying alignment with project requirements and quality standards.
* Conductor Stringing Management: Supervise and manage conductor stringing operations, including helicopter-assisted activities, ensuring precise execution, safety, and coordination with aviation teams.
* Conductor Sagging Expertise: Ensure accurate sagging of conductors, applying specialized knowledge to meet tension and clearance requirements as per project specifications.
* Subcontractor Coordination: Direct and monitor subcontractors involved in pole construction and stringing operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality, and safety protocols.
* Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to workplace health and safety regulations, particularly for high-risk activities involving helicopters and elevated work.
* Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on construction progress, including milestones, challenges, and risks, to the project manager or relevant stakeholders.
* Issue Resolution: Address and resolve on-site issues related to construction and stringing activities, escalating complex problems to the project manager when necessary.
* Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of materials, equipment, and labor, ensuring efficient use to meet project deadlines.
The Candidate
Applicants must possess the following attributes & qualifications to be considered:
1. 2+ years of experience in supervisory position.
2. Demonstrated experience in achieving performance goals and objectives.
3. Demonstrated experience in managing high performance teams.
4. Demonstrated good safety record and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety.
5. Valid WA Driver's Licence – "HR" Class
6. Current National Police Clearance.
7. OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card.
8. Good organisational skills and the ability to achieve to required deadlines.
9. Good judgement and decision making.
10. High level communication including active listening skills
