Kerr Engineering is a Western Australian engineering company specialising in steel fabrication and general engineering solutions. With a strong reputation for quality workmanship, reliability and efficiency, we continue to expand our operations and deliver projects across a wide range of industries.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Welder to join our team in Henderson, WA on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication and assembly duties in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications while maintaining high standards of workmanship and workplace safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
* Performing welding and fabrication of steel components using MIG, TIG and arc welding techniques
* Cutting, shaping, assembling and joining metal sections and structures
* Operating welding equipment, grinders and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently
* Inspecting completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
* Repairing and modifying metal structures and fabricated components as required
* Assisting with the assembly and installation of fabricated products
* Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and complying with workplace health and safety procedures
* Working collaboratively with supervisors, tradespersons and other team members to meet production deadlines
Skills and Experience Required
* Certificate III qualification in Welding, Fabrication or other equivalent qualification
* Minimum 1 years' relevant full-time work experience as a Welder
* Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
* Good functional English
* Demonstrated experience in steel fabrication and welding
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
* Reliable, motivated and solutions-focused attitude
