About the Role

Your responsibilities will include facilitating compliance with legal obligations, developing environmental approval applications, and providing supervision and support to site operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure timely completion of monitoring and reporting activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate technical studies required to support environmental approval applications.
* Prepare environmental approval applications to ensure operational continuity of sites, including Part V Prescribed Premise Licences and Works Approvals, Mining Proposals and Mine Closure Plans, Groundwater Licences, Native Vegetation Clearing Permits and Programmes of Works.
* Interpret legislation, government guidelines, and approvals to guide site operational teams in maintaining compliance and adhering to regulatory requirements.
* Champion environmental approvals processes and support the implementation of the site's Environmental Management System (EMS).
* Analyse, interpret and report on the results of environmental monitoring data and trends.
* Liaise with external stakeholders, including Government regulators, neighbouring landholders and internal stakeholders.
* Lead significant environmental incident investigations and follow-up on corrective actions with department managers.
About You
* Minimum five years relevant experience in the mining/resources industry.
* Bachelor's Degree majoring in an Environment related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
* Excellent understanding of environment, mining and heritage legislation in WA.
* Strong knowledge of environmental impacts and controls associated with mining and processing operations.
* Solid understanding of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and auditing processes.
* Experience with GIS, preferably ArcGIS Pro, and other database management programs such as Power BI and SharePoint.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, with ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic and outcome-focused environment.
* Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
