Key Responsibilities:
* Examine food ingredients and prepared food items to ensure quality and freshness
* Prepare, season and cook menu items including sushi components, hot food dishes and side items
* Portion food, plate dishes and ensure consistent presentation standards
* Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety standards
* Prepare food to meet dietary requirements where required
* Assist with stock control, food preparation planning and estimating food requirements
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and food preparation areas
* Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required
Skills and Experience Required:
* Relevant qualification (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or similar) or equivalent industry
experience
* Experience working in a commercial kitchen restaurant (Japanese cuisine or Sushi & Sashimi experience
highly regarded)
* Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
* Ability to work efficiently in a high-service kitchen environment
* Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation and quality assurance
