An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Chief Security, Facilities & General Services Officer to take ownership of security, facilities, ICT oversight and WHSE functions across multiple high‑security sites within a leading defence‑aligned organisation. This is a rare strategic and operational leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in complex, compliance‑driven environments and enjoys working across physical security, cybersecurity, site operations, ICT, and safety.
Your new role
As the Chief Security, Facilities & General Services Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding the organisation's people, property, information and operations. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across Security, ICT Support and WHSE, and will oversee the development and implementation of policies, risk frameworks, compliance programs, and site management activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring national‑level security compliance, operational continuity, and alignment with legislative and corporate security frameworks across multiple Australian sites.
Lead all personnel, physical and facility security functions across multi‑site operations
Maintain compliance with national security legislation, regulatory standards and internal policy frameworks
Act as the main security representative, overseeing classified information, Controlled Cryptographic Items, and export control compliance.
Conduct security audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and reporting to senior leadership
Collaborate with internal ICT teams and international stakeholders to implement best‑practice security standards.
Lead WHSE compliance across all locations, acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies.
Support property development activities and ensure site compliance across all operational requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring a blend of security leadership, facilities oversight and ICT/WHSE understanding, ideally from a defence, government, critical‑infrastructure or multi‑site operational environment.
Relevant qualification in Security, Business, Safety or similar
Previous experience dealing with defence government stakeholders - highly desirable
Eligibility for NV1 Security Clearance (or current clearance).
Experience in security, facilities, WHSE or ICT risk management across complex, multi‑site or high‑security environments.
Strong understanding of the ISM, DSPF, PSPF and/or DISP frameworks
Experience managing contractors (HVAC, electrical, site services)
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced environments
