Our higher education is seeking a payroll processing team leader for a minimum twelve month contract. The day rate for the role is about $550-600 plus super.
The university is located in inner Sydney, but the role can be worked almost fully remotely. There are over 10,000 staff there, and there is a good sized team with lots of support.
The role itself can be work almost fully remotely.
Experience with Workday, Ascender and Preceda is highly regarded, but not necessary.
Key responsibilities:
1. Leads a team of Payroll Officers to process and execute fortnightly payroll efficiently and effectively, on-time, every time.
2. Ensures that appropriate sign-off for any and all pay runs are documented, saved and circulated. Works closely with the Payroll Services
Team Lead to ensure full, complete and well governed sign-off every pay-run.
3. Responsible for team performance using metrics, benchmarks and SLAs. Strong advocate of ServiceNow and associated performance
dashboards.
4. Provide advice, mentoring and coaching to Payroll Officers in order to develop their skills and abilities in the role.
Work as a senior in the payroll team with a strong focus on providing advice, guidance and mentoring to Payroll Officers to ensure
deadlines are met and the payroll service is provided in an accurate and timely manner.
5. Interpret awards/agreements and contracts in order to provide advice to Payroll Officers and staff.
6. Maintain accurate records and e filing. Ensure that appropriate record keeping procedures are adhered to when processing HR data.
7. Leads the review and continuous improvement of all payroll related transactional processes and procedures
8. Contribute to increasing knowledge and capability through utilising opportunities for job rotation across the Payroll function
9. Participate in ongoing process improvement and various other projects, programs of work and committees to align with the overall
University's strategic direction
10. Performs work activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate to the role's
classification level.
