We are seeking a Head Stockperson to lead the team at Headingly Station. Headingly Station is located near Urandangie, approximately 200 km southwest of Mount Isa.
Who we are:
The Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) is Australia's largest integrated cattle and beef producer, specialising in grass‐fed, grain‐fed, and Wagyu beef production. Established back in 1824, we've been doing this a while – in fact, we're Australia's oldest continuously operating company. We've had plenty of time to figure out how to be the best workplace we can be, with all the support, training, and opportunity you need to shape your career how you want to. We're dedicated to acknowledging our history even as we look to sustainably feed the future – and we'd love you to join us.
In this dynamic and hands‐on leadership role, you'll be at the heart of station operations – leading the stockcamp, developing the crew, and ensuring daily activities run smoothly and safely. You'll drive training and assessment through our Operational Skills Framework, champion animal welfare, and uphold company policies and performance standards. As a role model for safety, teamwork, and excellence, you'll help shape a culture where people grow, contribute, and succeed together.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor and support the Stockcamp, fostering strong communication across teams.
* Train, develop and assess the Stockcamp in line with the Operations Skills Framework, ensuring appropriate supervision for each task and individual.
* Role‐model safe behaviours, continuously assess and improve safety systems to protect people, livestock, and assets.
* Ensure livestock welfare in line with Industry Standards and AACo's Animal Welfare Policy.
* Plan and implement animal husbandry programs.
* Contribute to planning and execution of general maintenance and capital improvement programs.
* Support environmental and natural resource management, maintaining appropriate records.
