Senior Occupational Therapist / Key Worker
Windermere is an independent community service organisation across the Southeast of Victoria, delivering a wide range of services including Early Intervention & Therapy Services, NDIS Support Coordination and Plan Management, Homelessness Support, Counselling Services, and Recovery Support Services.
We are seeking a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist to provide quality Early Intervention & Therapy services, lead within our team of Allied Health professionals and deliver a broad range of evidence‐informed intervention strategies, assessments and parent education.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (occupational therapists, speech pathologists, early childhood education specialists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians) to design and deliver comprehensive support for consumers.
* Model processes to improve skills by providing knowledge, constructive feedback, coaching and learning opportunities.
* Deliver a broad range of evidence‐informed intervention strategies, standardised assessments and parent education to increase communication and active participation in social and educational settings for children.
* Undergo face‐to‐face consultation and relationship building in natural environments, schools and kindergartens as well as our modern office facilities and therapy spaces.
* Provide support and advice to families and children across different areas, including speaking and listening, establishing routines and supporting development of milestones.
Key Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
* Minimum 3 years' experience managing, supervising and leading staff.
* Minimum 5 years discipline specific clinical experience, with sound theoretical knowledge in paediatric practice (0–9 years).
* Ability to meet service delivery requirements of 4 hours/day and provide a consumer‐focused, high‐quality and responsive service.
* Knowledge and experience to assess children from 0 to 9 with a variety of clinical and developmental needs.
* Knowledge and experience in the prescription of assistive technology.
* Willingness to obtain Medicare Provider Registration.
* Proficient in the use of ICT for service delivery (telehealth), case‐note documentation and online learning modules.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and support others to meet their KPIs.
* Build trusting working relationships with both children and families and the Early Intervention & Therapy Service team.
* Open to continuous quality improvement that allows ongoing learning and growth as part of a high‐performing team.
* Willingness to promote and support inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible practices.
* Willingness to undertake relevant pre‐employment screening and checks (NDIS worker screening, Police Check, Pre‐employment medical and Working with Children check).
* Right to work in Australia (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa holder with full working rights).
