Adelaide
Office for Early Childhood Development
Posted: 11 August
Offer description

Why work with us:

The Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a clear mandate: to create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia by implementing the accepted recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.

As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.

This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child’s life.

About this role:

Reporting to the Communications and Media Lead, the Senior Digital Officer will plan, schedule, and maintain high-quality website content, while working with external developers to oversee the execution of complex web projects from inception to launch.

This high-impact role requires an experienced digital professional to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to implement plans that align with the Office’s broader communications strategy.

A critical responsibility of this position is to ensure that content related to early childhood reform is accurate, timely, and accessible – supporting a high standard of user-friendly, stakeholder-focused communication. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the digital presence reflects the Office’s commitment to clear, inclusive, and engaging information sharing with stakeholders across the early childhood sector.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Managing the Office for Early Childhood Development’s website, including web content updates and the end-to-end delivery of digital projects,
* Leading and undertaking the planning, delivery and evaluation of complex programs and services that deliver online tools and resources to increase awareness of and engagement with the Flying Start reforms.
* Working collaboratively with the broader communications and engagement team, ensuring alignment of the OECD’s broader communications strategy across all digital channels.
* Ensure that all OECD digital platforms are functional, user-centric, and aligned with organisational goals.

About you:

Experienced in managing complex digital projects, you will bring strong leadership in website delivery, content strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Skilled in analytics, SEO, accessibility, and agile project management, you will combine technical proficiency with strategic thinking to deliver user-focused, innovative digital solutions that meet organisational goals in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:

* Strong experience managing complex web and digital projects, ideally in a government or large organisational setting.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft tailored, audience-specific digital content.
* Expertise in digital content strategy, including SEO, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), and responsive design.
* Proficiency with digital analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Data Studio) to generate insights and measure success.
* Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and competing priorities using agile frameworks and tools (e.g. JIRA, Trello).
* Solid technical understanding of CMS platforms (such as Drupal or WordPress), HTML/CSS, and UX/UI principles.
* A collaborative, adaptable mindset with a passion for innovative digital solutions.

Role Benefits:

* Opportunities for professional development and career growth within the public sector
* Work with Communications and Engagement Directorate and Divisional staff and senior communications and engagement staff across government, state and Commonwealth.
* Be part of an agency with a clear mission to improve the lives of South Australia’s children and families.
* Access to flexible working arrangements.
