Hobson Electrical is looking for a Senior Electrical Practitioner to join our team. We are looking for someone who is keen to transition to a Project Manager/Estimator role. We expect this role to be 50% office work and 50% on the tools, with flexibility for this to change depending on current workloads. You will work closely with our Director, manager projects and learn to estimate, as well as working on the tools alongside our team of Electricians and Apprentices when required. Previous experience as an estimator or project manager is not essential, but leadership experience is highly valued.
Job Description
* Analyse construction, plans and other documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates using AroFlo and Groundplan.
* Schedule and supervise the work of our team of Electricians to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest possible standard.
* Liaise with clients, contractors and staff to ensure clear communication and build strong relationships.
* Identify and resolve any problems that arise during projects.
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant electrical regulations and safety standards
* Contribute to the continual improvement of Hobson Electrical’s project management processes and procedures.
* Attend site inspections, client meetings and pre-construction briefings.
* Provide technical and practical input in design, technical delivery, quality control, and project coordination.
* Oversee general stock management, ordering, and coordination of company assets.
* Work on the tools alongside the team when required.
Looking For
* Hold a current Electrical Practitioners licence with a minimum of 5 years as a fully qualified Electrician.
* Experience in a similar role is highly valued, but not crucial.
* Have a thorough understanding of electrical systems, regulations and safety requirements. Including strong knowledge of the Australian electrical codes & industry standards.
* Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and implement detailed project plans.
* Strong communication management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors and staff.
* Demonstrate quick problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to stay cool and calm under pressure.
* Good with technology and software. Experience with project management and design software highly value, but not crucial.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Can read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and engineering specs.
* Highly organised, with good judgment and initiative.
* Construction White card and Manual drivers license.
* Physically able to work on the tools at least 50% of the time.
