Job Description
The Receptionist plays a pivotal role in our practice, providing exceptional support and service to patients and staff alike.
Duties encompass greeting and directing patients, managing the appointment system, processing personal information, and offering assistance as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and monitor practice appointment system
* Process personal, telephone, and electronic requests for appointments
* Respond to incoming phone calls, addressing caller queries effectively
* Signpost patients to relevant services
* Initiate contact with and respond to patient, team member, and external agency requests
* Enter data for new and temporary registrations, along with pertinent patient information as requested
* Input necessary data onto patients' healthcare records
* Direct inquiries for information to relevant team members (e.g., SAR, DVLA forms, insurance/solicitors letters)
* Manage all queries efficiently
* Perform system searches as requested
* Assist clinical staff with general tasks as required
* Photocopy documentation as needed
* Ensure a clean, tidy, and effective working area
* Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
Additional Responsibilities:
* Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary
* Complete opening and closing procedures according to the rota
* Participate in audits directed by the audit lead
* Support the admin team, providing cover during absences
