Support people living with chronic disease through community-based care

Metro South Health is seeking an Allied Health Assistant (CA3) to join the Bayside Chronic Disease Service within Community and Oral Health at Redland Hospital. This temporary part-time role (60.8 hours per fortnight until August 2026) supports allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred care for adults living with complex and chronic conditions across hospital and community settings.

Your new role:

As an Allied Health Assistant within the Bayside Chronic Disease Service, you will work under the supervision and direction of allied health professionals to support clinical care, rehabilitation and education for patients with complex and chronic health conditions. The role focuses on delivering delegated interventions, supporting treatment programs and contributing to safe, effective and coordinated care across community and hospital environments.

Key responsibilities include:

* Delivering delegated individual and group patient interventions under supervision
* Supporting treatment programs and reporting on patient progress
* Assisting with personal care, manual handling and patient transport
* Preparing, transporting and maintaining clinical equipment and resources
* Providing basic education to patients on defined topics
About you:

You are a reliable and motivated Allied Health Assistant who enjoys hands-on clinical work and supporting people to manage their health and independence. You understand your scope of practice, communicate effectively and work well within multidisciplinary teams.

You will bring:

* Experience working as an Allied Health Assistant or in a similar support role
* Ability to deliver delegated clinical tasks within scope of practice
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload
* Understanding of delegation frameworks and patient safety principles
