The Role
At JD Sports, our customer is at the heart of everything we do. As a Department Manager, you will lead your team to provide exceptional customer service, work closely with the store’s Management Team, and be responsible for creating great in-store experiences, maintaining merchandising & visual standards, and delivering financial results for your department.
You will set the standard for achieving sales and key performance metrics by coaching and developing your team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Model exceptional customer service, every customer, every time
2. Coach team to deliver outstanding service and foster a ‘service over task’ environment
3. Actively gain, maintain, and share product & brand knowledge for your department
4. Support management to improve financial performance within your department
5. Work with back of house to ensure product availability
6. Uphold company standards and deliver store visual excellence
What We’re Looking For
* 2-3 years of leadership experience within retail or a similar industry
* Passion for delivering an amazing service experience for customers
* Positive attitude and ability to motivate your team
* Proven track record in driving and exceeding KPIs and effective communication skills
* Excellent time management skills to prioritize daily tasks
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
* Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate with the team
* Desire to develop personally and professionally
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, engaging with customers and team members
