Stelo at Pierre's is seeking a full time Chef to join our professional kitchen team. We are a long-established, family owned restaurant in the centre of Launceston, surrounded by the cool-climate vineyards, coastlines and farms that make this region one of Australia's most exciting food destinations. Our menus celebrate regional
Italian cuisine and the produce of Tasmania. The work is grounded in tradition and

Duties include
* Preparation and cooking of menu items across lunch and dinner services
* Maintaining an organised and efficient section
* Ensuring food quality, flavour and presentation meet restaurant standards
* Producing handmade regional Italian pasta
* Producing Italian regional pastries and breads
* Opening oysters to a high standard with efficiency
* Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
* Following food safety and hygiene requirements
* Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams in a supportive,
communicative environment
* Supporting menu development and seasonal changes as directed by senior chefs
Skills and experience required
* Proven experience producing Italian regional handmade pasta
* Proven experience producing Italian regional pastries and breads
* Proficiency in opening oysters to a high standard
* Minimum two years recent experience in a commercial kitchen
* Experience in a quality restaurant environment
* Strong English language skills in spoken, written and understood forms
* Ability to work independently and within a cohesive team
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Understanding of classic cooking techniques and genuine interest in Italian cuisine
* Ability to manage prep and service demands consistently
* Commitment to professional growth and maintaining high standards
* Food Safety knowledge
* Availability for an in person trial shift to demonstrate skills and experience
Availability requirements
* Able to commence employment in January 2026
* Available to work a varied roster including nights and weekends
* Willing to commit to the role for a minimum of twelve months
