About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our ASX-listed organisation on a 6-month contract. Working within our Finance department, the Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for undertaking accounts payable functions, including internal processing controls, matching and coding invoices, and creditor analysis.
Working within an established and supportive team environment, the incumbent contributes to the financial operations of the company by building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working alongside the finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Manage end-to-end accounts payable and payment processes
* Timely input of supplier invoices
* Investigate discrepancies between PO and invoice and obtain appropriate approval for amended invoices
* Ensure supplier invoices are supported by matching POs authorised by management and follow up on receipting
* Ensure payment of invoices is made based on agreed credit terms
* Monthly reconciliation of Accounts Payable Control account in the General Ledger to the sub-ledger for local and overseas accounts payable
* Prepare proposed creditor payment schedules on a regular basis
* Reconciliation of other general ledger accounts as instructed including prepayment, credit card, AP Clearing, and Goods Received Not Invoiced
* Process staff reimbursements
* Monthly reconciliation of credit card transactions and accruals
* Reconcile supplier statements to Aged Payables
* Update ANZ trade finance register
* Additional finance and administrative tasks as required

To contribute to our continued growth and success, we are seeking a motivated finance professional who ideally has:
* Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or a similar qualification
* Proven experience in accounts payable processes
* Requires good knowledge and working experience in ERP environment.
* Meticulous attention to details and high level of accuracy
* Time management including strong organisation skills and planning skills
* Information collection skills (e.g. source required information from internal and external parties)
* Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
In addition, the following would be highly advantageous:
* Experience with AP automation software
* Working knowledge of EPICOR would be highly regarded
