Job Description:
* Work collaboratively with staff to deliver planned education programs and promote an inclusive learning environment.
* Monitor students' progress toward educational goals and provide constructive feedback to the teaching team.
* Develop leadership capabilities to assist in mentoring and coaching of other support professionals.
* Support students with diverse needs, including autism spectrum disorder, complex behaviours, mental health concerns, vision/hearing impairment, diabetes and learning difficulties.
* Maintain accurate documentation and respond effectively to challenging situations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder in K-6 settings.
* A strong understanding of de-escalation strategies and health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
* Knowledge of evidence-based behaviour management strategies.
* Ability to model good practices for other support professionals and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
* Ability to work effectively with a range of technologies and maintain detailed records.

Eligibility and Training:
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before commencing employment.
