Job Description

The Hardware (Electrical Engineer) is responsible for all electrical and electronic aspects of the design and support of printer and accessory products. This includes in-house design and supporting third party products. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of electrical and electronic design from conception and specification through design, documentation, prototyping, testing, qualification, regulatory certification, and supporting the product in manufacturing and the field.


Your Key Responsibilities

* Perform electrical and electronic design and documentation of wiring, PCBs and harnessing of in-house product designs. Work with regulatory engineers to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and provide necessary information and documentation.
* Work with third party vendors to ensure components, assemblies, and finished products meet requirements.
* Participate in the conceptualization, specification, and design of proposed products to ensure effective accomplishment of product goals.
* Provide input to the development of product development schedules and keep management informed of progress.
* Gather and analyze information about manufacturing and field problems and develop and implement solutions.
* Presentation and communication skills are essential for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Methodical problem solving and leveraging internal and external experts are crucial for success.
* Contacting inter-organizational and outside customer contacts is also required.
* Producing documentation in compliance with Avery Dennison standards is mandatory.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field. Alternatively, 3-5 years of applicable work experience may be considered.
* Working knowledge of circuit design and analysis. PCB design skills and regulatory knowledge are a plus.
* Microcontrollers, electromechanical control, programmable logic, and control theory expertise are desirable.
* Familiarity with engineering equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers is required.
* Ability to construct prototype and test fixtures using common tools.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, and excellent planning and organizational skills are essential.
* A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Google online suite of products is necessary.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team across multiple geographic locations.
* Excellent analytical capability and logical thinking are required for complex technical problems.
* Some travel may be required to support product design, implementation, and support.
