Hays is excited to be working with one of the Federal Government's key cultural institutions that play a vital part of the Australian cultural landscape. The Capital Works team is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the team.
Your new role
The (level 6) Assistant Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager supporting the delivery of key capital works projects to a high standard. Responsibilities include:
* Support delivery of complex projects through design, project delivery stage through to completion, ensuring adherence to time, budget and scope targets
* Facilitate procurement activities as well as project, financial and contract management in a construction environment
* Assisting in design management, contractor management, stakeholder management, budget management, reporting and project implementation.
* Support risk assessments including contingency management and risk mitigation
* Coordinate regular project reporting, draft business cases
* Monitor project budgets, review and report on expenditure
What you'll need to succeed
* Demonstrated experience in all aspects of capital works project management
* A strong understanding of government procurement and budget processes is an advantage.
* Relevant Construction industry qualifications and relevant ticks
* High-level written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities whilst having high attention to detail
* Be a strong team player, collaborate well and provide support to the broader team.
What you'll get in return
* Long term Non-Ongoing Contract direct with the department - 3-year contract
* Level 6 Salary circa $90k - $103k + 15.4 % superannuation
