About the role The Advanced Psychologist within CAMHS Forensic Services team provides expert clinical expertise to the child and adolescent mental health population involved with the youth justice system. The Advanced Psychologist collaborates within multidisciplinary teams, as well as liases with the Youth Court, Kurlana Tapa, and youth justice sector, to contribute to the care and safety of young people. Key duties of the role Provide advanced clinical and forensic knowledge and interventions in child and adolescent mental health. Provide assessments, including consulting and undertaking psychometric assessments. Assess complex individuals and families' presentations. Integrate mental health care within a risk management framework. Coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies to meet health care needs. Skills and Experience Must hold an appropriate degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia (minimum of a Master of Psychology – Clinical or Forensic). Please review the attached role description for additional minimum educational requirements Forensic and clinical experience in the delivery of mental health psychology services to children and adolescents. Experience in the area of supervision of clinical staff in a mental health setting. Demonstrated ability to carry out psychology assessments and therapeutic interventions of a highly complex nature. Work with a high degree of responsibility with limited supervision and direction.
