Iona College Geelong is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher (Sessional) – Strings to join our growing Music Department in 2026.
Iona College is currently in the process of building a dynamic and contemporary Music Department and ensemble program. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic strings educator to play a key role in shaping and developing our expanding program.
The Role
The successful applicant will:
* Teach violin and viola in both small group and individual lesson settings
* Deliver engaging, high-quality instrumental tuition to students across year levels
* Lead a string ensemble after school
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the College's ensemble and performance program
The position currently involves one full day of teaching per week, plus an after-school string ensemble.
About You
We are seeking applicants who:
* Demonstrate strong pedagogical knowledge and experience in teaching string instruments
* Are confident teaching both small groups and individual students
* Foster a positive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment
* Have excellent communication and organisational skills
An ability to conduct and experience working with ensembles is desirable. However, there is opportunity for further professional development and training in conducting as the program continues to grow.
