With continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we're seeking an experienced Gate Technician with fencing installation skills to join our team based in Hervey Bay.
We specialise in automated gates, fencing, access control, and perimeter security solutions — and we're looking for professionals who take pride in delivering quality outcomes.
The Role
As a Gate Technician & Fencing Installer at Automated Security, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality installations and service across a range of gate automation and fencing projects. Your day-to-day work will include:
* Installing and commissioning automated swing, sliding, and boom gates
* Servicing and repairing gate motors, control boards, safety devices, and access interfaces
* Integrating intercoms and access control systems with gate hardware
* Fencing installation including steel, aluminium, and timber systems
* Site preparation, concrete footings, and post installation
* Installing and commissioning gate motors, control boards, safety devices, and access interfaces
* Integrating intercoms and access control systems with gate hardware
* Servicing and troubleshooting existing gate automation systems
* Documenting all work using mobile workflow tools
* Liaising with clients and suppliers to resolve technical issues professionally
* Maintaining compliance with WHS and relevant standards
You'll work independently and as part of a close-knit team, using smart workflows and mobile tools to deliver reliable, well-documented service.
What You'll Bring
* Proven hands-on experience with gate automation and/or fencing installation
* Ability to read plans and work from technical specifications
* Strong fault-finding and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills
* Familiarity with access control and intercom integration (advantageous)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* White Card and relevant trade certifications (e.g. Restricted Electrical Licence or equivalent)
* Drivers Licence (preferably manual)
* Professional attitude and pride in workmanship
