As a Support Worker you will assist a customer to become more independent in their own home and community.
Responsibilities
Mentoring and skill development – guiding customers to explore and develop their personal interests/hobbies
Coaching independent living skills such as cooking, domestic and social skills
Administering medication and adherence to individual support plans
Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports
Providing personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding and dressing when required
Helping customers engage with local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
Personal care is a must, and must be comfortable and knowledgeable in doing so
Diabetes knowledge or training is ideal
PEG feeding knowledge is ideal
Community access will also be a requirement at certain times
Qualifications
Must have a Driver's Licence and Full Comprehensive Insurance
Willing to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekends
Versatile communication skills – able to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willing to obtain)
Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003
Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, would be advantageous
