Asees Indian Restaurant Wollongong owns and operates a full-service Indian restaurant and an adjoining function and events centre, hosting private celebrations, weddings, corporate events, and large group functions.

A full-time Event Manager position is available for an experienced hospitality and events professional to manage end-to-end planning and delivery of events held at the venue.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Event Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering successful events at the restaurant and function centre, including but not limited to:

* Planning, organising, and coordinating private functions, corporate events, and special occasions
* Liaising with clients to understand event requirements, budgets, timelines, and service expectations
* Managing event bookings, contracts, schedules, and function run sheets
* Coordinating staff, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth event execution
* Overseeing event setup, service delivery, and pack-down activities
* Collaborating with kitchen and service teams to ensure food and beverage requirements are met
* Monitoring event budgets, costs, and profitability
* Ensuring high standards of customer service before, during, and after events
* Resolving client concerns or operational issues promptly and professionally
* Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, liquor licensing laws, and workplace health and safety requirements
* Maintaining accurate records relating to event operations, suppliers, and client communications

Skills and Experience Required

* Minimum 1-2 years of full-time experience in an Event Manager, Event Coordinator, or similar role
* Experience managing hospitality-based events, functions, or venue operations
* Relevant qualification in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
* Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills
* Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
* Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Summary of Role Requirements

* Full-time position (38 hours per week)
* 2–3 years of relevant work experience required
* Flexible working hours required
* Expected start date: Feb/Mar 2026
* Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 per annum + Superannuation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
