About the Business Unit Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, is responsible for the overall coordination of the emergency management system in Victoria. EMV drives the integration of policy, strategy, operational coordination, and planning across Victoria's emergency management sector, contributing to safer, more resilient communities. EMV works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The organisation is led by the Deputy Secretary/ Chief Executive and Emergency Management Commissioner, Emergency Management Victoria and includes oversight of statutory entities and offices and the department's emergency management accountabilities. About the Role The Senior Salesforce Developer is a member of the Recovery Programs Coordination and Delivery Branch within EMV, leading the design and development of the Salesforce instance. The role reports directly to the Deputy Director, Recovery Program Coordination and Delivery. Leading the technical delivery of EMV's Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution, you will achieve objectives by designing, building and maintaining a scalable, high-quality platform that directly enables service delivery and case management outcomes. Working as an embedded senior developer alongside the Salesforce Product Manager and Business Analyst, you will translate prioritised requirements into robust technical solutions, own the integrity and performance of the Salesforce environment, and engage with stakeholders to ensure technical decisions are clearly communicated and aligned to business needs. Drawing on the departmental Salesforce Centre of Excellence for specialist consultation where required, you will apply deep platform expertise and development best practice to continuously improve the CRM, ensuring it remains reliable, secure and fit for purpose as the organisation's needs evolve. Some of your duties will include: * Design, build and maintain technical documentation, administer Salesforce components, and configure objects and code to deliver robust, scalable solutions using best practice techniques appropriate to a service delivery and case management environment. * Operate as an embedded senior technical expert within the business unit delivery team, working closely alongside the Salesforce Product Manager and Business Analyst to design and deliver end-to-end solutions that directly support business outcomes. * Lead the design and implementation of Salesforce solutions across the full development spectrum, from configuration including flows, assignment rules, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards and reports, through to custom development including Apex Classes and triggers and Lightening Web Components, with a strong focus on service delivery and case management use cases. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: * Demonstrated experience within a large ICT environment leading software development practice, with a track record of successful ICT improvement or transformation that delivers realised business value. * Demonstrated experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, with hands-on experience in service delivery and case management implementations. * Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Lightning App Builder is essential * Deep proficiency in flows, Apex, validation rules, system automation, sharing and security settings, permissions management, formula fields, with demonstrated judgement in selecting the appropriate tool (declarative vs programmatic) to meet business requirements while minimising technical debt. Qualifications * Salesforce Administrator and Salesforce Platform Developer 1 are essential. * Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder and/or Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant are highly desirable. * Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology are highly regarded. * Appropriate vocational qualifications or certifications in Agile, Software Platforms, Cloud, Service Management or Change Management are highly desirable.
