Clinical Nurse Manager | Aged Care | Breaking the Rules

* Circa $130,000 + Super + Salary Packaging
* Large NFP Residential Aged Care Provider
* Relocation Assistance to Regional NSW (coastal location)

Rule 1 of being a recruiter: don't make it obvious who your client is in your advert. We're taught this from day one. There's several reasons to this but here are the two main ones:

1. You don't want your competitors hounding your client.

2. You DO want candidates to speak with you first.

I think I'm going to have to break this rule as it's going to be REALLY difficult to contain my enthusiasm and hide who my client is. To the point where I'm considering just naming them.

Because if I wrote a typical advert, the kind that you see plastered across 99% of SEEK, I wouldn't be doing my client justice. I wouldn't be able to convey how gosh darned excited I am to have been engaged by their P&C team to find a Care Manager for their facility in Regional NSW (coastal).

So here's the deal. I'll craft an application inspiring advert, leaving enough clues as to who they are. But all I ask is that if you're interested, don't do what the super savvy CEO of this organisation did to get his own job, which was to (and here's your first hint as to who my client is):

1. Read a recruiter written job ad in the newspaper,
2. Make an application but hearing nothing back,
3. Figure out who the organisation was
4. Call them directly to cheekily ask when his interview was taking place

To be fair, if he never took matters into his own hands, I wouldn't have been able to interview him on my podcast (second hint).

And what I learned from that CEO during that podcast interview, and from everyone else I've spoken to at this organisation, is exactly why I'm willing to break the rules for them. It's because they don't just talk about their history but they live by it.

Their whole philosophy, going back 145 years (third hint), is that you look after your own.

I know what you're thinking. Every provider under the sun says they're "a family." But this organisation has put their money where their mouth is on a scale that is genuinely unheard of.

In one of their locations, they have built apartments exclusively for their staff. Not as a temporary perk, but as a home you can live in at a heavily subsidised rent.

And here's the crazy part, the part that brought me to literal tears during the podcast (seriously, go to the episode and you'll see me snotting away. Also, fourth hint). You can continue to live in that home, at that same affordable rent, even after you retire

Mind.

Blown.

To be clear, they don't have this scheme available where this specific vacancy is. This is just to show you what type of organisation they are.

Having said that, while this has only been rolled out in one location, the CEO also stated "I went to the board and I said… let's do it everywhere else. So our plan is to build staff housing at our other locations."

That's just crazy to me. In this day and age, with soaring property prices and cost of living.

I couldn't help but feel emotional.

So now you know why I'm a huge fan of this client and why I'm taking the risk in being circumvented in the process. Because my client really does deserve the best of the best and I'll do everything in my power to ensure they get the greatest Care Manager possible.

So if you:

* Like what you read above
* Have significant experience in Residential Aged Care
* Are a Clinical Nurse Manager / Clinical Care Manager
* Are an AHPRA Registered Nurse
* Have full working rights in Australia
* Are willing to relocate to Regional Australia

Then apply to this advert. Or send your CV to or call me on for confidential enquiries.
