We are a privately owned and operated Civil Construction business based in South East Queensland. Our specialist team consists of construction experts with more than 20 years of industry experience. We deliver projects across Australia primarily in regional environments. Our clients are industry leaders.
The successful candidate would lead and manage our Earthmoving equipment with maintenance and on hire and off hire. They will also assist with the yard labour, and working with our piling manager to ensure the workshop has the correct supplies stocks to support our projects across Australia. You will be part of a management team that drives quality, performance and innovation.
Our dedicated workshop and maintenance facility is located in Beenleigh, on 5 acres and 2500 square meters of workshop
About the role
Your key responsibility is the leadership and management of maintenance and workshop services in support of civil construction projects. Applicants need to demonstrate a track record as an experienced tradesman (heavy plant and machinery) and manager of small teams.
Within your role you will;
* Manage the workshop and maintenance facility
* Lead a small internal team and maintenance based sub-contractors and suppliers
* Provide trade specialist advice
* Maintain plant and machinery including specialist tooling
* Lead maintenance planning and scheduling
* Support project mobilisation and de-mobilisation
* Maintain the workshop and facilities to the highest standard
* Maintain accurate records for all equipment, machinery, inventory and procurement
* Strong plant and equipment knowledge and maintenance procedures

Skills and experience
Applicants will need to demonstrate;
* Experienced trade qualified fitter
* Experience in managing a workshop and maintenance facility including scheduling
Experience with heavy plant and machinery including specialist tooling
* Experience and demonstrated success in leading teams
* Decisiveness with an ability to advise and influence others
* Experience in the management of maintenance based suppliers and sub-contractors
* Experience in stock and inventory management
* Superior verbal and written communication skills
* IT Competence - microsoft suite and basic maintenance programs
* A proactive approach to the workplace and an ability to adapt to change in supporting projects
* An active approach and focus on HSEQ
* A valid drivers licence, forklift, plant and machinery licences and relevant tickets
