The ADFHSC Data & Analytics Team is a centralised technology team of specialist skills that enables Bupa ADFHS to execute on its data strategy. We are building the future state of Bupa's data platforms on Microsoft Azure services and enabling the business to work strategically with data to maximise performance. Senior Data Engineers contribute to the evolution of Bupa's data estate through project and business‐partnering approaches.

• Support the Head of Data & Analytics in providing thought leadership and consulting to business stakeholders around the use of data and data technology.
• Work directly with the business to understand detailed data requirements and translate them into Epics, Features, and Stories that technical delivery teams can build.
• Lead estimation of effort for story delivery.
• Lead team‐level design and code review processes.
• Produce detailed design deliverables based on established architectures and design standards.
• Identify and contribute to the evolution of data design standards, guidelines, frameworks, and practices.
• Engineer data pipelines from data acquisition and ingestion through the data lake, reports, dashboards, applications, models, and APIs.
• Engineer data features to support advanced analytical processes and data science teams.
• Engineer advanced analytical solutions including ML and MLOps processes.
• Engineer CI/CD processes and execute releases.
• Primary responsibility for source code control, release process within the team, tracking and addressing technical debt, ensuring secure development practices, and documenting outputs.
• Document and implement data quality and integrity checks across key data sets.
• Evaluate and spike new technologies and approaches, and recommend pathways to adoption.

• Security cleared position – must be an Australian citizen and eligible for a baseline security clearance.
• Minimum of a degree in engineering, computer science or a related technology discipline.
• 5 to 10 years' experience as a software or data engineer.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Azure; AWS and GCP considered.
• Background in Databricks and Spark.
• Advanced CI/CD experience.
• Strong knowledge of advanced engineering practices.
• Experience running code reviews and mentoring engineers.
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks.
