Our Melbourne Large Corporates team serves both public and private companies, and covers some of Australia's largest and most iconic names. The role will be aligned with HSBC's most strategic clients, taking responsibility for the origination and execution of transactions and delivery of client solutions. Your role will be to drive strategies targeted at delivering outstanding client service, executing and structuring large & complex transactions, delivering global product mandates, and maintaining responsibility for day to day portfolio activities.

The role will require the independent and lead management of ASX-listed corporate client relationships including coverage of Treasurer, CFO and C-Suite levels. Furthermore, the successful applicant will be part of the Commercial Banking Large Corporates senior leadership team, responsible for delivering strategy, culture, and people initiatives in Melbourne and beyond. The role holder will have a number of Melbourne-based supports and will be critical in driving a high performing and inclusive team culture in Melbourne and nationally. This will include providing ongoing coaching and supporting the career development of aligned support staff as well as providing input into career development initiatives for the national team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Independently managing a portfolio of high profile clients resulting in the delivery of strong financial outcomes and excellent client service and engagement.
- Engaging with multiple touchpoints within both our existing and target clients to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position the Bank's solutions accordingly.
- Developing and maintaining an understanding of our clients' industries and associated markets, including both local and global dynamics
- Identifying and driving strategic dialogues to enhance C-Suite client engagement, presenting innovative and thought provoking ideas that leverage HSBC's domestic and international network.
- Delivering tailored solutions across credit & lending, transactional banking, working capital and trade finance, FX, interest rates, lending, syndicated & acquisition finance, sustainable finance, debt capital markets and innovative financing structures/capital management
- Role modelling "speak up" behaviours to make HSBC a great workplace for colleagues and a strong business partner for our clients.
- Providing oversight and guidance to mobilise colleagues. Proactive in the delivery of strategic business, culture and people initiatives.
- Understanding financial statements and company cashflows to identify, mitigate and manage risk.
- Ensuring strong adherence to credit policies (including ongoing monitoring of clients), financial crime compliance and regulatory compliance
