If you want to understand how groundwater systems behave in the real world, this role helps you turn field observations into meaningful project insights.
You will work closely with experienced hydrogeologists in field investigations and gradually build capability in analysis, interpretation and reporting as your experience grows. AGE provides structured mentorship in a supportive, knowledge sharing environment.
The Role
This is a field led graduate role with strong technical support.
You will spend a portion of your time on various sites across Queensland, supporting groundwater investigations for mining, infrastructure, and water security projects. Between field programs, you will build your skills in data handling and reporting.
Your work will include:
* Preparation and organisation of field equipment and logistics for site programs
* Supporting drilling supervision and geological / hydrogeological logging and field data collection
* Groundwater sampling and monitoring
* Assisting with installation of monitoring bores and equipment
* Supporting slug and pumping tests, with data processing
* Installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment (loggers, VWPs)
* Assisting with data analysis and reporting
Field trips can run for up to 2 weeks at a time. This role would suit someone who enjoys these types of field programs that involve hands on work in varied environments.
What you bring
You are a graduate who is serious about building a career in hydrogeology. You may not have much experience yet, but you are curious about geology and groundwater systems, you are collaborative and willing to learn.

* Degree in geology or environmental science
* Physical fitness for remote and rugged environments
* Drivers licence and ideally 4WD experience
* Full time Australian working rights
* Based in Townsville or willing to relocate permanently
