Job Opportunity
This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing parks and open spaces through strategic planning, contractor coordination, and community engagement.
* Manage external contractors to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
* Create a park care program, liaising with community groups and organizing weekend activities and rosters.
* Maintain inspection programs for green assets and contribute to long-term park improvement and planting plans.
* Respond professionally to public and elected member inquiries, ensuring all communications are documented appropriately.
* Assist with policy reviews and service level documentation to support high-quality park management.
About You
You're a proactive and organized professional with a strong background in horticulture and parks management. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* A Certificate IV in Horticulture (or similar) and current Driver's Licence.
* Demonstrated experience in managing parks operations, including contractor oversight and project delivery.
* Strong horticultural knowledge with the ability to prepare technical specifications and manage procurement processes.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, resolve issues, and communicate effectively.
* Proficiency in maintaining asset databases and planning for both short and long-term park improvements.
