Safety and Sustainability Specialist
About the Role:
This position plays a key role in leading health, safety, and environmental activities to foster safe, sustainable, and positive workplace environments.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have formal qualifications or experience in WHS with practical knowledge of legislation and standards. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage staff at all levels are essential. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are also required.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Lead health, safety, and environmental activities to drive organisational safety culture and sustainability initiatives
* Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with legislative requirements and organisational strategy
* Chair health and safety committees and drive actions to foster a positive safety and sustainability culture
* Coordinate emergency preparedness activities including drills, warden coordination, and safety equipment maintenance
Requirements:
* Formal qualification (Cert IV or higher) in WHS or recent relevant WHS&E experience with practical knowledge of legislation and standards
* Confidence using digital tools and Microsoft Office to support WHSE activities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage staff at all levels and build safety culture
* Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
