Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Education Support Professional to join our team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to develop their academic and social skills. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to create personalized learning plans that cater to each student's unique needs.
You will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes positive interactions and communication among students. This will involve implementing strategies to manage behaviour and develop effective interventions to address any challenges that may arise.
In addition to your teaching duties, you will also be required to maintain accurate records of student progress and collaborate with the wider school community to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should have a strong understanding of child development and be able to implement strategies to support students with varying levels of ability.
A GCSE or equivalent qualification in Maths and English is essential, as well as experience working with children with special educational needs.
You will also need to demonstrate patience, empathy, and flexibility, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
