About the Opportunity
Join Murrumbidgee Local Health District in a pivotal leadership role driving the implementation of Safe Staffing Levels (SSL) across the district. This is a unique opportunity to lead large-scale workforce and system change that will directly improve patient outcomes and staff experience.
Working closely with the Ministry of Health, you will lead and coordinate the rollout of SSL across key clinical areas including inpatient wards, emergency departments, ICU, multipurpose services and maternity services.
You will provide strategic leadership, guide change management processes and support managers and teams through this significant transformation.
As the Nurse/Midwife Manager - Safe staffing levels, you will:
* Lead district-wide implementation of Safe Staffing Levels
* Drive workforce planning, recruitment and roster redesign
* Support system changes (e.g. Staff Link, Health Roster)
* Provide education, coaching and support to managers and staff
* Develop and implement local policies, procedures and reporting frameworks
* Monitor performance, evaluate outcomes and drive continuous improvement
* Build strong stakeholder relationships across services and teams

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
* Proven senior leadership experience in complex healthcare environments
* Strong change management and workforce planning capability
* Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
* Understanding of the Public Health Nurses and Midwives (State) Award i.e. safe staffing levels
* Ability to lead large-scale reform and influence across multiple services
* Commitment to quality, safety and patient-centred care
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency
* Current Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel across MLHD
