JB Foods Pty Ltd trading as The Good Grocer Group, is a leading WA family-owned business within the independent supermarket industry. We are currently seeking dynamic and motivated Duty Managers to join our Good Grocer leadership team in Karratha on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As a Duty Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the store. You will supervise and support the team to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain high operational standards, and drive the store's success in line with company values. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring customers receive prompt and quality service, responding effectively to inquiries and resolving complaints.
* Leading and supervising staff, including planning and preparing work schedules, allocating duties, and providing guidance on sales and service procedures.
* Recruiting, training, evaluating, and supporting staff development, while also managing performance, promotions, and grievance resolution where required.
* Instructing and coaching team members on handling complex or difficult customer service situations and sales procedures.
* Examining returned goods and determining appropriate action in line with store policies.
* Managing stock control, including inventory checks, ordering goods, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
* Ensuring goods and services are correctly priced, merchandised, and displayed to create a welcoming and customer-friendly store environment.
* Enforcing compliance with safety, security, and food safety standards, while maintaining workplace health and safety requirements.
* Driving store performance and profitability, through effective inventory management, merchandising, and community engagement.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* At least 12 months of proven experience as a Retail Supervisor or in a similar retail leadership role.
* Strong ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
* A customer-first mindset with exceptional service and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements.
* Strong merchandising and stock management skills.
* Proficiency in IT systems and retail management software (e.g. Smart Retail, ABCIS).
