Financial Reporting Specialist
About the Opportunity:
This role supports the financial performance and reporting of key enabling areas within a major infrastructure project. It partners closely with team leads and delivery supporters to ensure accurate financial data, insightful management reporting, and compliance with corporate finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare timely and accurate monthly reports for projects and functional areas, including variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
2. Oversee the collection and processing of inputs to the monthly reporting process, including accruals, transfer journals, scope changes, forecasts, and budgets.
3. Review major expenditure areas and variances to budget independently, providing reconciliations and improvement suggestions to relevant managers.
4. Provide accounting support to finance and functional managers.
5. Support commitment data requests to enable effective management and tracking of expenditure and forecasts.
6. Ensure correct code establishment consistent with reporting hierarchy and expenditure classification policies.
7. Assist in asset capitalisation management by completing forms, creating asset register details, and liaising with the Corporate Accounting Team.

Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related field; professional membership or relevant experience.
* Experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost functions within a commercial organisation.
* Strong analytical and business partnering skills.
* Extensive knowledge of spreadsheets and automated accounting systems.
* Attention to detail.
