Building Asset Inspector
Overview The City of Rockingham is an award winning local government located 40 km south of Perth. We are responsible for delivering high quality services, facilities and events that meet or exceed community expectations. This permanent, full‑time role (average 38 hours per week) requires a skilled skilled to join our Building Operations Team and play a key role in maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Inspect and audit buildings, facilities and park structures to ensure compliance with legislation and the City's asset management practices.
Maintain accurate asset data and produce detailed audit reports.
Coordinate and prioritise minor construction projects using a risk‑based approach.
Support the City's asset renewal programme and work closely with contractors, engineers and other stakeholders.
Identify and manage hazards and risks associated with on‑site activities.
Selection Criteria
Substantial experience in conducting compliance, defect and condition audits.
Good understanding of building specifications and technical drawings.
Ability to develop scopes and works programmes to ensure timely completion and documentation of minor projects.
Experience in hazard identification and risk management.
Ability to understand relevant Acts, regulations, local laws, policies and building codes.
Salary and Benefits Gross annual salary: $91,088.
12 % superannuation with the option to co‑contribute up to a further 5 %.
