Act as a trusted credit advisor to the RM/AM team, bridging frontline relationship management and Risk.
Translate credit policy, risk appetite, and portfolio considerations into clear, practical guidance for RMs.
Support balanced decision‐making that aligns commercial objectives with risk discipline.
Analyse and spread financial statements, including complex multi‐entity and consolidated group structures.
Identify early warning indicators such as servicing pressure, gearing, intercompany leakage, tax arrears, and profitability deterioration.
Review ATO obligations, payment arrangements, and broader compliance risks.
Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, AML/KYC requirements, and security standards.
Recommend appropriate risk mitigants, including guarantees, subordinations, security variations, and enhanced reporting.
Contract Renewals, Variations & Credit Submissions
Lead credit assessment for contract renewals, extensions, and facility variations.
Prepare high‐quality credit submissions, renewal memoranda, and variation papers for approval.
Structure and assess:
* Limit increases
* Security amendments
* New borrower or guarantor entities
Maintain audit‐ready documentation and disciplined credit records.
RM Enablement & Client Conversation Support
Utilise financial spreading tools and portfolio insights to guide RM‐led customer conversations.
Provide conversation guides, targeted question frameworks, and information request lists to support effective client engagement.
Enable RMs to have more informed, confident, and commercially focused discussions with clients.
Monitor portfolio trends and emerging risks across RM‐managed client segments.
Proactively identify cross‐sell and growth opportunities (e.g. equipment finance, refinancing, facility optimisation).
Support prudent growth by balancing opportunity identification with credit risk considerations.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Process Discipline
Work closely with Relationship Management, Credit, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams.
Ensure opportunities, renewals, and variations are accurately captured in CRM systems.
Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement of credit workflows and RM capability uplift.
Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in relationship management, credit, or commercial lending within financial services.
Strong credit analysis and financial spreading capability, including complex group structures.
Sound understanding of credit risk, compliance frameworks, and structured finance concepts.
Proven ability to engage, influence, and support senior RMs and internal stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in trade finance, invoice finance, or asset finance.
Exposure to portfolio risk management and credit policy interpretation.
Professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, CPA, CA, FRM) highly regarded.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management, credit analysis, or a related area within the financial services industry.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in credit risk modelling and assessment tools.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as AML, KYC, and invoice financing regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or similar.
Experience working with structured finance or trade finance products.
Ability to manage complex financial transactions with strategic risk mitigation.
