Contracts Administrator - Major Construction Project ($500M)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced construction Contracts Administrator to join a high-profile project in South East Queensland, located in the Northern suburbs of the Gold Coast. This role is part of the Client Team, which is also the Project Principal Contractor delivering this landmark manufacturing project.
The Project
You will work on a significant $500 million infrastructure project in Yatala, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that will:
- Utilize cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices
- Represent one of the largest investments of its kind in Queensland
Key Responsibilities
* Provide contract support across the project for claims, variations, and compliance
* Develop and maintain contract documentation, Contract Administration Plans, correspondence, and registers
* Review contractor compliance regarding insurances, licensing, and management plans
* Assist with HSE audits, contractor compliance, and breaches
* Prepare and maintain Risk Registers and Management models for reporting
* Coordinate with commercial, finance, procurement, and project teams to resolve equipment delivery, invoicing, and payment issues
* Support project managers with report formatting and data extraction
* Assess contractor claims and prepare Payment Certificates
* Assist with project budget reporting and forecasting
* Manage document and standards administration
* Handle expense and travel management
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Business/Commerce, Law, or equivalent, or 10+ years of industry experience in a major projects commercial or contracts role
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Contracts Administrator in a construction environment
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Proficiency in Adobe Pro
* Understanding of document control processes
* Experience with SharePoint and similar software
* Familiarity with project correspondence and document management systems such as Aconex, Asite, or Commnia
* Ability to work effectively with highly technical teams
* Strong cross-cultural communication skills
* Ability to conceptualize and plan procurement activities
* Skills in data analysis and presentation
* Understanding of commercial management within construction projects
Position Context
* This role is based at the Yatala construction site, working 5 days a week
* Ability to work virtually and collaboratively in a team environment is essential
