DBT Group Facilitators – 2 PPT positions available

Two exciting opportunities have become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Allied Health Professional to join The Geelong Clinic as a group co-facilitator for the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Day Program.
The Geelong Clinic is a Psychiatric Hospital offering a range of inpatient, day programs and outreach services for individuals experiencing mental health problems. Located on the outskirts of Geelong within close proximity to spectacular coastal attractions, the clinic has a number of accredited Psychiatrists supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team of nursing, allied health, administration and domestic services staff. Onsite parking available.
The DBT Group Facilitator role involves co-facilitation of the DBT Skills Group which runs as a full day group program twice weekly. There will also be group planning between modules, and Case Consult with DBT clinicians. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, supported by other experienced mental health professionals.
Essential Criteria
* Relevant tertiary qualification in an allied health profession and current registration or professional membership (e.g. AHPRA, AASW, PACFA)
* Experience facilitating therapeutic groups
* DBT training or strong working knowledge of DBT skills and theory
* Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs (e.g. emotion dysregulation, self-harm, suicidality)
* Risk assessment and management skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and manage group dynamics
* Competence in clinical documentation
* Commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care
Desirable Criteria
* Formal DBT training
* Experience delivering DBT programs or co-facilitating DBT groups
* Familiarity with DBT Case Consult
* Experience in community or non-acute mental health settings
* Experience working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder or other personality disorders
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate DBT skills groups in line with evidence-based protocols
* Plan and deliver structured, engaging and accessible group sessions
* Support application and generalisation of DBT skills
* Monitor progress and complete clinical documentation
* Conduct risk assessment and maintain participant safety
* Manage group dynamics and therapeutic boundaries
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team as needed
* Maintain DBT model fidelity and participate in consultation
* Contribute to program evaluation and service improvement
* Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed, neuro-affirming care
