Peer Support Coordinator - Remote / Work from Home
Job Summary
Remote / Work from Home
* $50 – $75 per hour - Independent Contractor
We're building something special at Neuroqueer - a support service run by and for neurodivergent and LGBTQIASB+ people. We're here to make sure people like us feel good, feel seen, and feel supported.
If you care deeply about people, know what it's like to navigate systems that weren't built for you, and want your work to actually mean something, we'd love to meet you.
the opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Support Coordinator to partner with Neuroqueer as an independent contractor, delivering services under our brand to people with NDIS plans across Australia via telehealth.
You'll operate your own practice while accessing Neuroqueer's client referral pipeline, brand, technology, and support. You set your own availability, choose your own hours, and have complete flexibility over when and how much you work.
You'll work with people to help them make sense of their plans, connect with the right supports, and navigate the system. You'll be their go‐to person for coordination, advocacy, and getting things done.
scope
* Support people to understand their NDIS plan and put them into action in a way that works for them
* Connect people with services and providers that genuinely fit their needs and goals
* Advocate for people and support them to navigate the NDIS
* Build strong, trusting relationships with participants, their support network, and other providers
* Keep documentation accurate and up to date
* Collaborate with therapists, support workers, and other professionals involved in someone's support
About you
We're looking for someone kind, thoughtful, and someone who genuinely cares about doing right by people. Someone who does the right thing - even when no one's watching, keeps people safe, and treats them with respect and warmth.
Ideally, you have:
* Solid experience as an NDIS Support Coordinator and/or Psychosocial Recovery Coach
* A good understanding of how the NDIS works - funding categories, plan management, service systems, and the rules that come with it
* Strong case management skills, from intake through to plan review
* The ability to advocate effectively and build genuine, trusting relationships
* Lived experience of neurodivergence and/or being LGBTQIASB+
* A relevant qualification - Certificate III/IV in Disability, Community Services, or Individual Support, or a Diploma/Bachelor's in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or similar
* An NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or you're happy to get them)
* Comfort working autonomously in a remote team, managing your own schedule, and staying organised - with support and check-ins available when you need them
What's in it for you
This is a contractor engagement, not employment. You operate your own business and Neuroqueer provides you with client referrals, brand access, technology, and administrative support in exchange for a service fee based on your monthly billings.
* A steady stream of client referrals — we handle intake, matching, and onboarding
* Access to our technology platforms at no additional cost
* Administrative support including invoicing, scheduling, and client communications
* Full control over your availability — set your hours, change them whenever you like, and work as much or as little as suits you
* Freedom to maintain your own clients and work with other organisations simultaneously
* An affirming, inclusive culture that centres lived experience — where pacing yourself, asking for breaks, or saying "I need support" is genuinely welcomed
* A voice in shaping how we grow — your ideas and feedback are deeply valued
* The chance to make a real difference in the lives of people who've been let down, misunderstood, or left out by other systems
What you'll need to operate
As an independent contractor, you'll need to maintain:
* Your own ABN (sole trader or company)
* Professional indemnity insurance
* Public liability insurance
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Current Working with Children Check
* Your own internet connection and device suitable for telehealth
We encourage applications from people with lived experience of neurodivergence, disability, or being LGBTQIASB+, as well as First Nations folks and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, we'd love to hear from you.
Applications for this role will take you to the employer's site.
