Job Summary
This dynamic senior electrician role supports our Gladstone operations, requiring a technically skilled professional who thrives in complex environments and manages electrical systems effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager in Gladstone, this full-time position:
• Oversees the maintenance and repairs of electrical, electronic, and control systems
• Works closely with the shore-based Maintenance team, Technical Superintendent, and crew to ensure planned maintenance systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
* STCW Electro-Technical Officer certification or equivalent marine electrical qualifications
* Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a marine electrician, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
* Advanced knowledge of marine electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems
* Proven expertise in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of shipboard systems
* Strong understanding of maritime regulations and safety standards
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Outstanding problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and software
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
