GMHBA is looking for a Member Communications Specialist for 12-month part-time (4 days) contract to join our team and help shape how we communicate with our members across GMHBA and Frank. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering meaningful communications that keep members informed, confident and supported.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong writer and strategic communicator who enjoys working across digital and traditional channels while collaborating with a variety of teams.
About the role
As our Member Communications Specialist, you'll be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality communications that reach our members across multiple channels. You'll ensure every message is clear, accurate and aligned with regulatory requirements. You'll also contribute to important projects such as annual rate reviews, end of financial year and key member updates.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you'll help ensure our communications are simple, member-focused and impactful.
What you'll be doing
* Create engaging member communications including emails, SMS, letters, website content and brochures
* Translate complex health insurance and regulatory information into clear, easy-to-understand messages
* Deliver end-to-end communications, from planning and drafting through to proofing, testing and distribution
* Use tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Optimizely to manage campaigns and web content
* Coordinate large-scale communications with external mail house providers
* Ensure communications meet regulatory, compliance and brand standards
* Support major annual member communications projects such as rate reviews and end of financial year
* Analyse engagement results and use insights to continuously improve communications
About you
You're a natural storyteller and skilled communicator who enjoys making complex topics simple and engaging.
You bring strong attention to detail, enjoy collaborating with stakeholders and thrive in an environment where priorities can shift quickly.
What you'll bring
* 5+ years' experience in communications, content or member/customer communications
* Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong eye for detail
* Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism or similar
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
* A passion for improving member and customer experience through communication
Nice to have:
* Experience in private health insurance, financial services or a regulated industry
* Knowledge of health insurance compliance requirements
* Experience using marketing automation or content management platforms
