We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team at Paragon Cafe. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, creativity in menu development, and a commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences. Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development: Create and innovate seasonal menus that reflect the cafe’s style and customer preferences. Experiment with new recipes and presentation styles to enhance the dining experience.
Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation and cooking of all menu items using high-quality ingredients. Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet presentation standards.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Regularly taste dishes to ensure quality and consistency.
Staff Management: Supervise kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure efficient operations. Schedule staff shifts and manage kitchen personnel.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to maintain kitchen operations. Keep accurate records of inventory and manage food costs effectively.
Customer Interaction: Engage with customers to receive feedback on food quality and service. Address any customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and service flow. Collaborate with management on special events, catering, and promotions.
Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Cost Control: Assist in budgeting and managing food costs to maximize profitability. Implement portion control and minimize waste.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance skills and cafe offerings. Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role in a cafe or restaurant environment. Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Creativity and a passion for food and customer service.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
